Centre: Eastern Cape High Court, Gqeberha

Typist job Requirements:

  • Matric Certificate or equivalent qualification
  • Shortlisted candidates will be required to pass a typing test – Minimum typing speed of 35 wpm

Typist Duties:

  • Typing a variety of legal documents including appeals, reviews, reports, minutes, circulars, witness statements, affidavits, memorandums, and court orders
  • Providing relief to administrative personnel when necessary
  • Filing, opening files, and making appointments
  • Handling public queries and performing other administrative duties
  • Assisting the taxing master with drawing taxation files, taxation dates for attorneys, and maintaining their diary
  • Dealing with telephone calls regarding taxation dates and court order processes
  • Operating the switchboard and performing tasks allocated by the supervisor

Note:

  • All applications must be submitted on a NEW Z83 form, which can be downloaded from www.judiciary.org.za or www.dpsa.gov.za/dpsa2g/vacancies.asp, or obtained from any Public Service Department.
  • Applicants must include a recent comprehensive CV and provide contactable referees with indicated telephone numbers and email addresses.
  • Human Resources will communicate with only shortlisted candidates and require them to submit certified copies of qualifications and other related documents on or before the day of the interview.
