Requirements:

  • Grade 10/ABET Level 03.
  • N3 certificate or equivalent qualification in diesel mechanics (advantageous).
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Knowledge of Agricultural Equipment.
  • Ability to Operate a Tractor.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in operating farm machinery and maintaining water infrastructure.

Competencies and Skills:

  • Basic diesel mechanic skills.
  • Water/Diesel Engine maintenance skills.
  • Knowledge of various types of farm equipment.
  • Familiarity with Batho Pele Principles.
  • Experience in discing, planting, and harvesting crop fields.
  • Proficient driving skills.

Tractor Driver Duties:

  • Load, transport, and offload goods.
  • Perform refuse removal within the farm.
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery, equipment, research trails, firebreaks, and access roads.
  • Maintain farm infrastructure.
  • Conduct routine inspections on water reservoirs and livestock drinking troughs.
  • Engage in routine livestock and general farm activities.
