  • ABET/Grade 10 Certificate and Grade ‘D’ PSIRA or equivalent qualification (Matric or Grade ‘C’ PSIRA qualification is advantageous)
  • 1-2 years of experience in security operations
  • No criminal records or pending cases
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, shifts, and weekends
  • Willingness to undergo vetting process
    Knowledge and Skills:
  • Knowledge of Security legislation, policies, and procedures
  • Familiarity with Public Service Regulations, Security Registers, Batho Pele Principles, MISS
  • Strong customer management, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Time management skills
  • Discipline, self-confidence, meticulousness, flexibility, initiative, ethical conduct, reliability, independence


  • Perform access control functions
  • Provide escort services to visitors and contractors
  • Conduct electronic searches of individuals and baggage
  • Ensure safety of staff and visitors in the building and premises
  • Carry out general and patrolling duties, including vehicle searches and security checks
  • Maintain incident records in the occurrence book
  • Manage requests to open offices and report patterns to supervisor
  • Regulate parking access and record visitor vehicles
  • Register and authorize the departure of DCS assets from the building
  • Prevent unauthorized entry of persons and dangerous objects
  • Assist visitors and contractors based on security management’s directions
