  • Senior Certificate/Grade 12 Certificate with relevant experience.
  • A three-year tertiary qualification in Logistics Management or Public Administration would be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of interpersonal skills, ability to work under pressure, advance SCM concepts, procurement policies, tender procedures, Logis literacy, financial systems (LOGIS) (BAS), knowledge of payments, orders, and posting.
  • Skills in organizing, planning, report writing, problem-solving, computer literacy, communication, and general office management.

SCM Clerk Duties:

  • Capture requests for goods and services on the LOGIS system.
  • Oversee LOGIS processes related to stock and obtain quotations.
  • Place orders with suppliers and monitor stock levels.
  • Maintain the supplier database and address general Logis-related inquiries.
  • Coordinate stocktakes and maintain serial information for items.
  • Track inventories and inventory controllers.
  • Provide administrative support for payments of goods and services.
  • Generate orders and capture supplier invoices.
  • Offer administrative support in resolving audit queries and gather information to resolve them.

  • Effective from 01 January 2021, the new Z83 Application Form approved by DPSA (obtainable from any Public Service Department) must be used. Applicants must fully complete, sign, and initial the Z83 form when submitted, as failure to do so may result in disqualification.
  • For the new Z83 form, Part A and B must be completely filled, Part C regarding the method of correspondence and contact details must be fully completed, and two questions in Part F about conditions preventing reappointment must be answered.

  • Certification confirms that a document is a true copy of the original but does not validate the authenticity of the original document. Validation occurs during the verification process.
  • Regulation 67 (9) requires the executive authority to be fully satisfied with claims, and this aligns with Regulations (57) (c) regarding the finalization of Personnel Suitability Checks.
