Sales Assistant
Location: Pretoria Central, Gauteng
Pay: TBC per week
Job Type: Permanent – Part-time
Work Schedule: As Needed

Job Description:

PURPOSE OF POSITION: To be a friendly team player, promoting sales, reducing stock losses, managing stock, serving customers, working on the till, and maintaining a low-cost culture to meet business goals.

The position requires honesty in dealing with cash or finance.

What You’ll Do:

These are the tasks you’ll handle during your workdays:

  • Minimize stock loss through a healthy store culture and adherence to security measures, stock, and cash handling procedures.
  • Manage a low-cost business, aligning with the company’s cost-effective culture by driving store efficiencies.
  • Handle cash at the register following company policies and procedures.
  • Be part of a dynamic team of Dynamos.
  • Maintain general health, safety, and housekeeping standards.
  • Increase sales by prioritizing exceptional customer service, maintaining world-class store standards, managing stock, implementing promotions, and ensuring correct pricing according to guidelines.

Preferences:

Meeting these preferences is advantageous, but not mandatory.

  • Matric certificate.
  • South African candidates.
  • Experience in sales and cashier roles.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Reside within 15km of the job location.
  • Clear criminal record.
  • Computer literate.
  • Passion for retail, demonstrating integrity and a willingness to go the extra mile.
  • Ability to plan and organize daily duties.
  • Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work retail hours, including weekends and peak periods.

During the application, you will be asked the following questions:

  1. Are you fluent in reading, writing & speaking English?
  2. Do you have any Sales or Retail experience?
  3. Do you live within traveling distance from the job?
  4. Do you have any BAD debt? If so, +/- how much?
  5. Are you willing to work extended retail hours, including weekends and public holidays?
  6. Confirm awareness of working a maximum of 27 hours per week.
  7. Do you have good knowledge of basic numeracy, and can you work accurately under pressure?
  8. Are you friendly, helpful, willing to work in a team, and hard-working?
  9. Are you passionate about serving customers, wanting to make everyone look and feel good?
  10. Do you have a matric certificate or equivalent?
  11. Confirm your location.
