SALARY: R431,265 – R497,193 per annum (excluding benefits)

  • Diploma or Degree in Nursing as per R425 regulations, or an equivalent qualification enabling registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse.
  • Post-basic nursing qualification, with a minimum duration of 1 year, accredited with SANC according to government notice no R212 in the relevant specialty.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in nursing after registration as a professional nurse with SANC in general nursing.
  • At least 1 year (out of the 4 years) of experience in a psychiatric environment.

Professional Nurse DUTIES:

  • Provide comprehensive mental health nursing care.
  • Participate in training, research, supervision, and support of students and junior nurses.
  • Offer advanced psychiatric skills to junior nursing staff and students.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of nursing legislation, legal, and ethical nursing practices.
  • Ensure efficient resource utilization.
  • Implement National Regulated Norms and Standards and Ideal Hospital Framework Standards.
  • Participate in relevant hospital committees to enhance service delivery.
  • Act as a shift leader in the unit when the Unit Manager is absent, ensuring adherence to professional and ethical standards.
