Legal Services Intern (Ref No: 0001/2024)

Overview:

The Centre for Public Service Innovation (CPSI) is dedicated to fostering youth skills development. We invite applications from promising graduates for a 24-month Internship Programme in Legal Services.

Position Details (POST 04/01):

  • Stipend: R7,043.25 per month (as per Directive on Internship Programme)
  • Location: Pretoria, Arcadia
  • Duration: 24 months (non-extendable)

Internship Opportunity Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in law

Duties:

As a Legal Services Intern, you will be exposed to:

  • Drafting legal opinions
  • Handling litigation matters
  • Working on contracts
  • Drafting, processing, and interpreting legislation related to public administration

Personal Profile:

Basic skills that Interns should possess include:

  • Office management
  • Computer literacy
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Time management
  • Teamwork
  • Competencies focusing specifically on the public service
  • Communication skills

How to Apply:

In-Person Submission:
Hand-deliver your application to the Centre for Public Service Innovation at Batho-Pele House (inside DPSA), 546 Edmond Street, Arcadia, Pretoria, 0007. Applications received after the closing date will not be considered.

Email Submission:
Send your application to Recruitment@cpsi.co.za. Faxed applications will not be considered.

Note:

  • It is the intention to promote representativity in the CPSI through this position.
  • Preference will be given to candidates from designated groups and people with disabilities.
  • Applications must quote the correct reference number.
  • Applications should be completed on the new form Z83, obtainable from any Public Service Department or on www.gov.za/documents.
  • Each Z83 application form must be fully completed (Sections A, B, C & D are compulsory, and Sections E, F, and G are not compulsory if the CV is attached).
  • Failure to sign the form may lead to disqualification during the selection process.
  • Applications using the incorrect application form (old Z83) will not be considered.
  • All applications must be accompanied by a fully completed Z83 form and a detailed CV only.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit certified copies of qualifications on or before the interview day, following communication from Human Resources.
  • Reference checks will be conducted during the selection process.
  • The department reserves the right not to make an appointment.
  • If you have not been contacted within three (3) months after the closing date, consider your application unsuccessful.
