Position: Driver (X2 Posts)

SALARY: R147,036 per annum (Level 03)

CENTRE:

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Qualifications and Competencies: Junior Certificate or STD 08 or an equivalent qualification
  • A valid motor vehicle driver’s license with Public Drivers Permit (PDP)
  • Ability to read and write
  • Knowledge and Skills: Communication Skills
  • Interpersonal Skills

DUTIES:

  • Transporting clients/co-workers to various destinations
  • Collecting posts and documents to and from the institution
  • Responsible for taking the vehicle to and from merchants
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of state vehicles

NOTE:

Applications must be submitted on a Z83 form obtainable from all Government Departments or can be downloaded from www.dpsa.gov.za. Applicants should not submit certified copies of their qualifications with their applications. Instead, they must submit a duly completed Z83 application for employment form and a detailed CV. Shortlisted candidates will need to provide certified copies of their qualifications and ID.

Applications sent via fax will be discarded.

Applicants must clearly indicate the reference number on the Z83. Failure to comply with the above requirements will result in the disqualification of the application. The Department reserves the right to make an appointment in respect of the advertised post. The Employment Equity Plan of the Department will inform the employment decision. Please note: Due to austerity measures, the department will not carry any related costs (transport, accommodation, and meals) for candidates attending interviews.

Note:

The Department will subject all the recommended candidates to personnel suitability checks on their criminal records, citizenship, and educational qualifications. It is the responsibility of the candidate to have foreign qualifications evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). The Department will communicate the logistics of the technical exercise that intends to test relevant technical elements of the job to all short-listed candidates for SMS posts.

Following the interview and technical exercise, the selection panel will recommend candidates to attend a generic managerial competency assessment (in compliance with the DPSA Directive on the implementation of competency-based assessments). The competency assessment will be testing generic managerial competency using the mandated DPSA SMS competency assessment tools. A further requirement for appointment at the SMS level will be the successful completion of the Senior Management Pre-entry program as endorsed by the National School of Government.
