Job Purpose:
We are seeking a Data Capture Clerk to join our team in Cape Town. The primary purpose of this role is to obtain, capture, or process data within established policies, procedures, and systems. The goal is to satisfy client and bank requirements while achieving departmental objectives and targets.

Data Capture Clerk Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify client funds before processing requests to minimize financial loss.
  • Ensure request accuracy before and after processing to prevent financial loss due to negligence.
  • Maintain compliance with bank policies and industry regulations to minimize potential losses.
  • Manually capture bank charges for one-off requests using Nedbank Terminal Emulator (NTE).
  • Meet quality standards by adhering to Service Level Agreements (SLA) and turnaround times.
  • Build client trust by resolving queries promptly, communicating SLA deviations, and proposing solutions.
  • Foster internal and external relationships with clients by educating and guiding them through the request process and system.
  • Provide regular workflow updates by preparing and submitting daily and monthly statistical reports to the team leader.
  • Verify client details against banking platform and Nedbank Terminal Emulator (NTE) to mitigate the risk of fraud.
  • Confirm client requests by telephone to ensure client awareness and request approval.
  • Capture client information, date, time, and authorization following bank procedures to approve requests.

Update receiving files by capturing requests on the server in the relevant folder.

  • Report and record any significant incidents affecting department performance on the incidents form.
  • Adhere to all workflow processes by working in accordance with the Aris map.
  • Enhance service delivery by redirecting security stationery to the correct branches and updating branch details with printers and couriers.
  • Stay informed about legislation and industry changes that impact the role.
