The Assurance Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with internal standards, procedures, and policies within the Operations, Technical, and Procurement functions. They will inspect procedures and outputs, identify errors or non-conformity issues, and propose improvement suggestions to management. The primary goal is to maintain high-quality operations and services, contributing to the long-term success of the business.

Responsibilities:

Procedure Adherence:

Evaluate and inspect existing business processes, recommending changes to align with policies and procedures. Collaborate with management to plan engagement objectives and ensure staff adherence to policies. Monitor and evaluate operations impacting work quality and completeness. Guide staff in adhering to prescribed policies and processes.

Reporting:

Prepare quality documentation and reports, analyzing and summarizing information for management.
Report failures and solutions to the Chief Operations Officer for immediate action.
Maintain records of reports and statistical reviews.

Training of Staff:

Train and motivate employees to meet quality standards.
Build productive relationships with Operations, Technical, and Procurement staff.
Utilize technology for continuous learning and knowledge sharing.

System Management:

Ensure effective utilization and accurate record-keeping on relevant systems.
Identify staff training needs and assist with the development and implementation of system processes.

Assurance Officer Requirements:

Grade 12 qualification, relevant qualification, and Internal Audit diploma (beneficial).
At least 5 years of assurance experience in the logistics/transport industry.
Experience in auditing and implementing corrective/preventive measures.
Knowledge of systematic process implementation.
