Applicants must have completed Grade 12 with Accounting as a passed subject and possess a minimum of three years of clerical support experience in a finance setting.

Familiarity with Treasury Regulations, PFMA, procurement procedures, and other relevant legislative frameworks applicable to the Public Sector is necessary.

Proficiency in PERSAL, BAS, SAP, and SRM is required, along with asset management expertise. Strong reporting, planning, organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, and disciplinary skills are essential. Candidates should also exhibit supervisory abilities and possess excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).

Proficiency in administrative, analytical, and organizational tasks is expected, along with computer literacy in MS Excel, MS Word + MS Office. Sharing information with team members and the ability to work under pressure and for extended hours during the audit process. A valid driver’s license is mandatory.


The incumbent will ensure compliance with PFMA and Treasury Instructions, perform verification and reconciliation of payments, effectively manage and report losses and thefts, and accurately update financial transaction records. Supervisory responsibilities include mentoring and developing junior staff, providing statistical reports as required, and acting as a team leader for personnel in the Pay Office, Salary Office, Cashier Office, and Payment Office.

The role includes tasks such as overseeing SRM payment monitoring and Bas expenditure reporting, managing the distribution of payroll control sheets, and reconciling payrolls with PERSAL. Additionally, compliance with the Petty Cash policy, monitoring receipt capture and state money banking, supervising staff, authorizing subordinate work, and submitting weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports are vital.

The incumbent will also provide written feedback on internal and external queries, attend office meetings, and ensure compliance with the submission of payroll reports to the Pay Office by communicating with Circuit Managers and Sub-Directorate Heads.
