Accounting Clerk | department of communication and technology

  • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of financial functions, data capturing, and financial stats collation
  • Familiarity with public financial legislations, procedures, and treasury regulations
  • Knowledge of financial operating systems (PERSAL, BAS, LOGIS, etc.)
  • Understanding of working environment procedures and legislative framework
  • Computer literacy
  • Planning, organizing, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Confidentiality, time management, and ability to work under pressure

Accounting Clerk Duties:

  • Handle financial accounting transactions, including invoice verification and approval
  • Manage salary administration, process salary advices, bonuses, adjustments, and deductions
  • Perform bookkeeping tasks, including capturing financial transactions and reconciling accounts
  • Process electronic banking transactions, compile journals, and maintain financial records
  • Support budget activities by collecting budget information, identifying variances, and allocating funds
  • Manage documents, file records, and handle cash payments
